Dr.Oluwaseun Ogunbiyi

Dr Oluwaseun Ogunbiyi is a Principal Research Scientist with Qatar Environment and Energy Institute. He is a Chemical Engineer and was was awarded his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering with Management from the University of Bradford, winning first prize for Industrial Poster Design. He holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering (Distinction) from the University of Nottingham and a PhD from the University of Nottingham in Chemical Engineering.

Dr Ogunbiyi has 10 years working experience within a Utilities Company & renewable energy firm (Wessex Water & GENeco) and engineering design consultancy (CH2MHILL) aimed at providing process engineering design support, technical & quality assistance and optimisation of wastewater treatment related processes during outline and detailed design.

He has been involved in the preparation of full process deliverables and liaison with engineering design teams on wastewater and energy from waste projects. He has also managed contractors working on the membrane treatment plants within the Wessex Water Region.

He carried out research on membrane separation technology and in particular improving the efficiency of membrane performance and flux sustainability using turbulence promoters during his doctorate programme at the University of Nottingham.

He is currently a research scientist working on various projects within QEERI to investigate the technologies available for water/wastewater reuse and produced water treatment using membrane technology. He is also responsible for providing technical process engineering input for AMP5 wastewater schemes within GENeco/Wessex Water. His research interest is in
membrane technology and separation processes..
